Are you absolutely certain that you are using a Presto 01362 6-Quart
Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker purchased from an authentic Presto
dealer? If ordinary cooking (nothing involving corrosive reagents)
causes authentic rust then the material is not stainless steel. Of
course if the bottom you mention is the outside bottom of the cooker
then the rust is probably coming from the device you use to heat the
cooker.
